A hacker has discovered a critical vulnerability in open-source firmware available for wireless routers made my Linksys and other manufacturers that allows attackers to remotely penetrate the device and take full control of it.

Amazon created a stir today when, at the request of the publisher, it deleted copies of George Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm off its Kindle eBook reader. That’s right, it didn’t just remove those eBooks from its store, it deleted them off the Kindles of people who had purchased copies of the book (the price of the book was credited to their account). Naturally, Kindle owners are a bit miffed about this, and the irony that Amazon happened to delete books that are all about the totalitarian suppression of free thought didn’t help either

Hollywood has a long history of both embracing and spurning new technology. In the case of Twitter, it is giving an early embrace. Sony Pictures, for instance, has been notably aggressive, creating Twitter pages for upcoming movies "District 9," "Julie & Julia" and "The Ugly Truth.
