myTools: 001 - Launchy
Launchy (http://www.launchy.net/) is one of those tools that I use without thinking about it any more. When I came to write this post I had through the names in my programs menu to remember what it was called.

It allows you to launch an application by typing in a few letters of the app's name into an input box which appears with a keyboard shortcut. In my case, Alt-Space.
As many Mac owners will be screaming at this post by now, this is a functionality available in Spotlight by typing AppleKey-Space. It's true that Spotlight's functionality extends to recent files as well as programs, but I'm happy with Launchy's PC functionality for the moment (and I haven't checked for updates for a while...).
This allows me to launch apps from the keyboard without having to nav through program files or have lots of messy icons on my desktop. Like I said, I don't even think about it any more.
